Mexican Conspiracy (why white people are dumb)

It was a beautiful day in Los Angeles today.

The sun was out and the weather was warm.

It was one of those days where I remember why I moved out West.

Anyway, after I went to the Chiropractor for an adjustment, I got inspired and decided to start eating healthy.

However, as I have written before, eating healthy can get a bit expensive, so I went to Vallarta Supermarkets.

You say that your not familiar with Vallarta Supermarkets?

Well, let me explain what that is.

See, White people shop at such exotic places such as Ralph’s, Von’s, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s.

We get treated to such food as “Organic” and “Lean”.

White people have over 7 different kinds of tomatoes!

But, I wanted to eat healthy and for a low price.

So, I crossed into the “wrong” part of town and went shopping at Vallarta’s.

When you walk into Vallarta Supermarkets you are greeted by a guy in a poncho handing out fresh tamales.

Everyone says “Beuenos Dias” to you and you feel like you are part of some large family.

Over at the vegetable isle, I was able to buy tomatoes for 99 cents a pound, 2 heads of lettuce for a dollar and 4 bunches of cilantro for a buck.

There was no “Organic.”

There was only one type of apple, (red) however they did have 5 kinds of peppers.

Over at the meat counter I was able to buy chicken thighs for 74 cents a pound and ven marinated chicken fajitas for 2 bucks a pound.

They had people selling fresh tortillas and fresh chopped salsa.

It really is amazing.

When you go to check out, they let you hit a piñata.

You get one whack and you can get coupons up to 75% off of your shopping order.

Anyway, my point is this:

Vallarta Supermarkets is owned by Ralph’s Market.

There is a Ralph’s next to my house, however the prices at Ralph’s are double if not triple what they are at Vallarta’s.

So, it made me think….

Maybe us White people are just stupid?

Maybe we don’t need to eat apricotpeargrapes.

Maybe I don’t need to pay 10 dollars for a “personal watermelon?”

And maybe White people don’t need to pay for “organic” beef.

It’s amazing, there really is two America’s and the fact is that the rich people in Studio City and Sherman Oaks, will never know the cheap prices over in the ghetto, because they would never step foot in that part of town.

So, I will be shopping at Vallarta Supermarkets whenever I need some cheap vegetables, however, when I need  to buy  some organic cross pollinated grapples, I will be more than happy to spend triple over where the “White People” shop.
